Thursday, June 7, 2012 Calls poured into the Rensselaer County 911 Center for a male who had collapsed in the parking lot of the Brunswick Sports Complex on Route 2 in Eagle Mills.  Brunswick No. 1 Assistant Chief Edward Thompson Jr., also a Board of Director for Brunswick Girls Softball was on the scene with his chief's vehicle and full complement of EMS gear, including an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) .  Ed, an EMT for over 17 years quickly retrieved and utilized his AED and with the help of another EMT on the scene to aid in CPR was able to reverse the cardiac arrest and get the subject breathing again.  Check back for an update on this story.  Job well done ED!
